What’s the craic in Dublin this week?

What’s the craic in Dublin this week? At City Language School English School Dublin we ‘recommend culture’ and we let our students know what’s going on in the great city (aka town). This week we have a look at three events that are happening near Dublin City Centre and further afield over the next few days.

Christmas Market – The Work & Welders, Rosemount Terrace, 5 Arbour Hill, Stoneybatter, D7, Saturday 14th December – Sunday 15th December – FREE

Stoneybatter, Dublin, named among the most exciting and coolest neighbourhoods in the world. This village-in-the-city is a source of great pride for all its residents. Every year they host the Christmas Market, gathering a troupe of local designers, makers, bakers. There will be mulled wine served, the proceeds of which will go to the local Capuchin community. And delicious melty Raclette, hot chocolate, seasonal tunes, and as ever, a great atmosphere.

PLASTIC: MICROPLASTIC – MACROCOSM – SCIENCE GALLERY, Pearse St Dublin 2, Thurs 12th – 6 – 7pm – FREE

In an earlier post, we suggested that you go along to see the current exhibition at this great space not far from our school in Dublin City Centre. There are lots of events taking place around the exhibition and this one looks fascinating.

Microplastics are particles less than five millimetres in size that deteriorate from larger plastic pieces that have entered the ocean. They come from a variety of man-made sources such as cosmetics, clothing, and industrial processes, which eventually enter the natural ecosystem, polluting the environment and harming wildlife.

Comedy Crunch – The Stag\’s Head, Dame Lane (behind the school) – December 15th 8pm-  FREE

The Comedy Crunch is fast becoming Dublin\’s most reputable comedy show and by all accounts it\’s a great night out. Even if there weren\’t a show on, The Stag\’s Head is an excellent place to have a pint, particularly at this time of the year.
