For this week\’s Three on Thursday we take a look at a legend of Irish singing, some beautiful sites in Ireland and some ways of saying things here that they don\’t say anywhere else.
Luke Kelly – The Performer
In terms of production it\’s not the greatest documentary ever made. There are, however, some amazing performances from one of the best singer this country has ever produced. There are two statues of Luke Kelly in Dublin and this program gives you a few insights into why that is. The perfromance of Ragaln Road on about one hour and six minutes is particularly special. Well worth looking at if you want to understand a bit more about what lies at the heart and sometimes in the heart of being Irish.
Top 10 Most Beautiful Places in Ireland – Vagabrothers
These guys have got the best job in the world – they travel it and tell people where they should go. This video has over 1.5m views and for good reason. It is a ten minute guide to what you should see in Ireland. When the travel restrictions are over we still might not be able to fly outside of the country so instead of that trip to Europe, you might need to look into a few places to go to in Ireland when we are back moving around again. What we like about this guide, is that it takes you away from some of the more obvious places to visit. So instead of the Cliffs of Moher why not try Slieve League in Mayo or maybe go and listen to some Irish being spoken in Connemara.
