The wonderful and very popular Sophia Leontitsi has been teaching with us at City Language School in Dublin for over two years. Sophia hails from Greece but you wouldn’t guess it when you hear her strong Irish accent! Given that she has been teaching English for six years and has spoken the language from the age of seven, it’s hardly a surprise. Sophia holds a BA in English Language and Literature and got her Cambridge CPE at the age of fifteen!
When she is not busy teaching English she likes nothing more than getting out and about for long walks and enjoying the countryside near Dublin.
Last time out and as part of our Teacher Recommends series, Sophia spoke to us about her favourite podcast. This time we wanted to know what she likes watching on a night in with Netflix.
“The Crown, hands-down. Personally, I am a big fan of the British accent and I find this TV series a great way for improving one’s level of English. The structure of the show is very episodic and is not trying to be a ten-hour movie like other Netflix series try and fail to be; you’re supposed to take your time with it. The latest season was more focused on Princess Diana which appeals to a wider audience as many people were obsessed with her.”
