The Show must Go On – Ireland Performs – Lords of Strut – Sunday 26th 12.30pm
Last week, Culture Ireland launched a special website called Ireland Performs. This is a really excellent idea and one we hope everyone around the country can support. Culture Ireland is supporting artists in a time when there is nowhere to perform live and it means a significant loss of income for performers. There is a huge assortment of live events over the next few weeks. LAst week we mentioned three live acts and this week we have another one. Lords of Strut mix dance, comedy and circus performance to bring something a little different to the art of dance. Check them and their high energy act out right here on Sunday morning. Might be just the pick me up you need after a heavy night…in.

Radiohead – Live from a Tent in Dublin 2000
There are lots of Radiohead performances online, and their most recent concert at Glastonbury is well-worth checking out, but this concert took place in Dublin and is therefore cooler. If you have never seen them live then this is the next best thing. A great way to spend an hour!
History Documentary – The Forgotten Irish
This two-part documentary series examined the Irish men and women who were forced to emigrate to the UK during the economic stagnation of the 1950s. It looked at how many of the men became involved in building the motorways and rebuilding war-torn cities around England, while many women worked in domestic service or healthcare. Despite the enormous contribution these emigrants made, both to their new countries and to Ireland by sending money back home to their families, many of these elderly emigrants are now living lives of poverty and loneliness in their adopted lands.
This is production is poignant and touching and will give you an idea of what Ireland was like before it had some money. It also gives you some insight as to why there are so many Irish pubs around the world.
