As well as sticking to old favourites and course we know students enjoy, City Language School is announcing lots of new and exciting programs as part of its Summer Experience 2018 offering.

Among them is the Gaming Experience available at our wonderful Oatridge Campus just outside Edinburgh.

“We’re bringing in the great John McGill to teach the campers how to code and design a game,” says Jacob Rothauge, Oscars Juniors UK Operations Director. “So we think what we’re offering here is pretty unique; a chance for students to get their English lessons through coding. John is Director ComputerXplorers, a company that specialises in teaching children and young adults all about the wonders of computer programming and coding.”

As well as three hours of General English classes per day, Oscars campers at Oatridge will learn all about Programming and Coding, Video Game Design and Video Game Development. At the end of a two-week programme, campers will have created their own game and will have gained great experience working with a top professional.

In the evenings, campers will be able to enjoy on-campus events such as, ceilidhs, discos, scavenger hunts, ultimate frisbee and the chance to design their own kilt.

The course also includes two full-day excursions to Loch Lomond/Highlands and St. Andrew’s.

“There might be other summer camps doing this but I haven’t heard of them,” says Jacob. “At Oscars we try and offer something unique, a bit different and we’re pretty sure this will prove popular this summer.”
