Maria from Argentina loves City Language School

Maria Candelaria Necol is an Upper Intermediate student from Buenos Aires in Argentina. She arrived in Dublin in July and has been with us ever since. Today, we caught up with her to have a chat about her time in Dublin so far.

Why choose Dublin?

I was in London to study English four years ago and I loved it but it’s difficult because I couldn’t work and study because I don’t have the European passport. So this is the best place to work and study and I like it.

Why do you like it?

Because it’s a small city, it’s nice, it’s secure and the people are friendly and I like the school. The teachers are really nice my teacher (from every day) is Ewan, he’s really nice. My classmates are really nice. They are from different countries from Brazil, from Italy, from France, from Turkey, from Mexico so it’s different cultures.

Where do you live in Dublin?

In Dublin 1 near Croke Park. They have different things from my country so the transport doesn’t operate at night but it’s really nice here.

So you said that one of your reasons for coming here was that he visa allowed you to work, have you found a job?

Yes, I work in a five-star hotel near Grafton Street.

Is it easy to a get a job in Dublin?

For me it was. It was my first application. I had the interview and I started. I have experience in a restaurant. It’s a great place to work. I love it. They help me all the time with the meaning of things and my English.
