Volare! Why Italian students keep coming to Dublin & City Language School

Every year at City Language School Dublin we look forward to saying buongiorno to our Italian students. There is a large Italian communiyt in Dublin and traditionally we have always got along. Given that the Irish are known as the Latins of the North, it\’s probably not that surprising.

We have been lucky to sit down with many of our Italian students to find out about their experiences with us in Dublin. Here are just a few snippets of what they said.

I live in a beautiful house with a woman named Sandra and I share my room with a Belgian girl named Pauline. The house is very nice and we even have a little dog named Charlie. It is in Balinteer so it is close to the city centre, about fifteen minutes from the city centre. There is a lovely park beside my home called Marlay Park. It is very big and it’s a great place to spend some time with people in the evening.

I like the school because there are a lot of foreign people. I met a lot of people from all over the world so I share my time with a lot of people. That is good for my English but also for my (life) experience.

The school has been great. I love this place. I love my teacher and my classmates. They are fantastic. I’m very lucky. Dublin is full of all sorts of nationalities so it’s very different

But also the guys at reception are great, really polite and they make you feel comfortable. They want to make us comfortable. It is sometimes difficult because it’s hard to speak English all the time but they are great. They are really patient.

With the classmates with the teachers it was really good. Stuart was one of my teachers and he was really great. It was different because it was more fun. They teach you but in a different way. They teach you with fun. When I got here I was pre-intermediate and now I’m Intermediate, so I am happy with my progress.
