Irish Design Shop, 41 Drury Street, Dublin 2

Established in 2008 by two jewellers, Irish Design Shop is a small business that prides itself on promoting the work of some of Ireland’s most exciting designer-makers. While their products are that little more expensive, the emphasis on original design and individual craftsmanship makes it all worthwhile. Upstairs, you’ll find a jeweller’s workbench where customers can see work in progress. Everything here is 100% Irish made and made to last a lifetime.

George’s Street Arcade, Dublin 2

George’s Street Arcade is one of the oldest purpose-built markets in Europe

Built in 1881, George’s Street Arcade is Ireland’s first purpose-built shopping centre, and one of Europe’s oldest. There are some great shops in here and many of them are small stalls selling artisan food, jewellery and t-shirts. No matter what you’re looking for, you have a good chance of finding it in here and usually at a good price. When you’re finished you can always stop for coffee in Simon’s Place, get a seat by the window and watch the world go by.

Carroll’s Irish Gift Store, Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2

While we can’t say for certain that everything in here is made in Ireland, there’s no doubting this shop’s Irish identity. This place has everything from leprechaun hats to Guinness t-shirts, kale themed keyrings to shamrock emblazoned playing cards. If it’s something with an Irish theme you’re after and you want to keep it cheap, then this is the place to go.
