Every Tuesday at City Language School, we publish our #TuesdayTipClip. This week we look at English Pronunciation.
\’gh\’ in the middle of some words has the purpose of elongating the vowel \’i\’ that comes beforehand. If it is not here the \’i\’ would be short.
For example fight would be fit, might would be mit.
This can be hard to get your head around, particularly for lower levels.
