Berenice Vite de Léon from Mexico came to Dublin in March 2020. We were delighted that she studied with us at our English Language School in Dublin City Centre and just before she finished her course at City LAnguage School, we sat down to chat with her about her time here.
Studying and Working in Ireland
\”I came to Ireland, first because of the possibility to travel,\” she says. \”And the possibility of working and studying. For me it was a good option because I didn\’t have that big of a big budget without working so I think it is a big opportunity the country [gives you].\”
When she arrived in Dublin, Berenice started in another school. She went on to try a second but found that it was not quite the \”right fit\” for her. At City Language School, she says she feels right at home.
\”My experience has been amazing. I don\’t have enough enough words to describe it. I have been in a lot of schools. Compared to other schools, I like the building and the facilities, the sizes of the classrooms, the sizes of the classes, if we are many we are ten. You have many nationalities here so it\’s a good that you hear lots of accents.\”
Berenice is also a big fan of the school\’s location in Dublin city centre.
English Language School in Dublin City Centre
\”It\’s so good, the location,\” she says. \”It\’s on a good road. You have many buses that come to the school. Dublin as a city is a very cosmopolitan place. It\’s so different from the places that I know from my country or even my continent. It has a lot of contrasts and I think the country, in general, is amazing.\”
When Berenice arrived in Ireland, her level of English was B2. She has made giant strides in her fluency and now boasts C1 status. She is about to tackle her IELTS exam and is looking forward tothe challenge.
\”When I arrived I could understand many things but I couldn\’t express myself, \” she says. \”The teachers are very good and well-qualified. I think I have grown.\”
