Three on Thursday – Quiz, Jazz & Bingo with a Difference

Learning English in Dublin is great fun and one the reasons for that is the city itself. There is always something to do in this small but lively city and that’s why we love it so much. At City Language School English School Dublin, we let our students know what’s going on in the great city (aka town) and this week we have a look at three events that are happening near Dublin City Centre.

Jazz – The Tram Café, Wolfe Tone Square

https://www.thetramcafe.ie/

The Tram Café is a funny (in a good way) little spot near the Jervis Shopping Centre in Dublin 1. If the weather is good, and we think it will be, this will be a perfect place to start your weekend after a busy week studying.

The Café Duo, Juan Pablo Meja, and Jonathan Batista introduce a mixture of jazz, funk, soul, blues and bossa nova that will be sure to stimulate your soul and get your weekend off to a good start.

This free event starts at 5.30pm so it is a perfect to wind down after classes on Friday.

Quiz, Grand Social, Ha’penny Bridge

Get a team of brain-boxes together and head down to the Grand Social this Thursday at 8pm for a pub quiz. There are prizes on the night and every winning team gets through to the grand final later in the summer where prizes include 4 tickets for Electric Picnic as well as other festival and gig tickets. Good fun and good for your English.

Bingo with a difference, The George, George’s Street

City Language School Dublin recommends

This is one of Dublin’s premier bucket-list activities. Every Sunday for the last sixteen years (give or take the odd holiday) Shirley Temple Bar has been pulling balls at the George, just two minutes from the school. This is bingo with a difference and is the mightiest craic you will find on a Sunday. It starts at 9.30 and is free before 10pm (as far as we know) but €5 after that.
