After a week of English Classes in Dublin, we like to encourage our students to get out into the city itself and see what it has to offer. There is always something to do in this small but lively city and that’s why we love it so much. At City Language School English School Dublin, we let our students know what’s going on in the great city (aka town) and this week we have a look at three events that are happening near Dublin City Centre and further afield.
Dance – Baile de Favela, Dicey\’s
This Sunday night at Dicey\’s promises to be an \’earthquake\’ according to the organisers of Baile de Favela. City Language School very own DJ Ewerton Rodriguis will be spinning discs and sending out vibes from 11pm until late. It is €5 before 11.30pm so get down there early if you want to dance the night away. Just make sure you are up for class the next morning!
Art – Kim Gordon at IMMA, Kilmainham
Kim Gordon is a legend of music. She co-founded Sonic Youth in 1981 and became a massive influence on bans such as Nirvana. Her work crosses boundaries between visual art, music, fashion, film, writing and performance.
This exhibition entitled She bites her tender mind, features a series of new works including recent and previously unseen paintings, drawings, and ceramic sculptures, alongside a glitter installation and an immersive video projection.
Pilates – Phoenix Park, Saturday
If you fancy a bit of a gentle stretch on Saturday morning then this free event might be perfect. Pilates in the Park takes place at the bandstand outside the Tea Rooms near the Zoo. It will be lead by Sinéad Ni Clamha and starts at 10am. If it\’s a good day it could be a great way to start the day!
