There is always something to do in this small but lively town and that’s why we love it so much. At City Language School English School Dublin we \’recommend culture\’ and we let our students know what’s going on in the great city (aka town) and this week we have a look at three events that are happening near Dublin City Centre and further afield. This week we are also recommending a visit to a graduate fair.
Intercollective, International Bar Dublin, Sunday 7.30pm
This Sunday show is a great way to connect with people if you are feeling a little worse for wear on Sunday. It features two artists – bands, poets, singers – who are then joined by others that turn up on the day for the open mic sessions. The International has been a hub for this kind of activity for years. And you really never know who might turn up on the day.
Bahaus, National Gallery of Ireland, Merrion Square, Dublin 2
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus, the National Gallery of Ireland is displaying a complete set of four Bauhaus portfolios of prints, on loan from the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart.
These significant portfolios, comprising 52 woodcuts, etchings, lithographs and linocuts, from Germany feature some well-known names from the world of art including Paul Klee, Marc Chagall and Wassily Kandinsky.
The motto of the Bauhaus was to ‘Rethink the World’ through art and design and this small but rewarding exhibition is a timely reminder of the power and beauty of art.
Graduate Careers Fair, RDS, Wednesday 2nd October
The Graduate Careers Fair is on in the RDS Simmonscourt on Wednesday. Over 100 exhibitors to including employers, course providers & professional bodies will be taking part this year and they are there to talk.
Of particular interest to our students will be the CV clinic where you can avail of one-to-one CV and career advice from experienced advisers.
The fair also features a jobs walls which showcases live jobs from a number of sectors.
