Overseas Teacher Training Courses

Available Courses

All of our courses are eligible for Erasmus+ funding. It is possible to begin learning on our General English, Business English, and Academic English courses on most Mondays throughout the year. In addition, we have a number of Overseas Teacher Training Courses planned for Summer 2024.

Developing Language Teaching and Learning Skills

This course is aimed at secondary level language teachers who wish to expand and develop their language teaching skills and the language competencies of their students. The course covers theory and practice in language teaching and learning, developing the four language skills, fresh approaches to lexis and language analysis, teaching pronunciation, using technology in the classroom, language games and activities and integrated skills. A minimum level of CEFR B2 in English is required for this course.

21st Century Education – Reimagining our Schools

This course is aimed at primary and secondary level teachers and principals who wish to increase and expand their own 21st century skills as well as those of their students. The course covers theory and practice in education, a range of 21st century skills, global and environmental issues, critical thinking skills, ICT and media literacy, collaborative learning, and learner autonomy. It provides participants with a toolbox to develop these skills across a range of subjects and opportunities to share experiences with colleagues. A minimum level of CEFR B2 in English is required for this course.

Developing Academic Reading Skills

This course is aimed at third level teachers and students who wish to develop their academic reading skills. Many non-native speakers of English, both in Ireland and abroad, find themselves facing the seemingly insurmountable task of reading and comprehending complex academic texts in limited time frames. The course aims to promote confidence in students by providing effective reading strategies and a framework for understanding academic texts. A minimum level of B2 in English is required to participate in this course.
