City Language School is Top of the Class for Nour

Nour Rhimi joined City Language School at the end of February 2024. The 40-year-old from Warve in Belgium had visited Ireland eight years ago so when offered the chance to come back, she found it easy to make up her mind.

Why Ireland?

“I came to Ireland before and it was a really good experience,” says the UX designer. “This time, I came with a programme called FOREM. It gives you a list of places you can go to. There were schools in Malta and a school in the south of England but I wanted to come here. There were two schools to choose from and I chose City Language School.”

“I’m a UX designer and I saw your website. It is very clear and well designed and you can find the information very quickly. This helped me to choose between the two. I think it’s very important to say that. The user experience is very nice.”

“I had a very good experience in the school. The classes and workshops were great. Barry is a great teacher. He has a great methodology.”

Nour spent three weeks in Dublin. She studied Business English with Barry Monahan and took part in workshops and cultural excursions provided by the school.

Business English

“I picked Business English because my English is not so bad but I needed to improve my English in Business for my field – for meetings, to share my ideas with stakeholders,” she says. “I had a very good experience in the school. The classes and workshops were great. Barry is a great teacher. He has a great methodology. It was very new for me. We had lots of practice in conversation. He loves his job and you can feel that. Thiago’s workshops were very different too. Katty was great too. She shared some Irish culture with us and brought us to museums and other places in the afternoon that were amazing. Everyone I met here loves their job. They are very quick to respond and very efficient. It made a good impression on me.”

During her time here, Nour stayed with the Duddy family in Kill who she says “were very kind”. Most afternoons she spent in Dublin either on tours with Katty or exploring the Irish capital alone or with classmates.

“The school is in the centre of Dublin which is very nice because you can do a lot of things after classes,” she says. “You can visit Trinity just down the road. The location is wonderful. I like Dublin so much. The arts and the architecture are amazing with the mix of the old and the new and I saw a lot of Georgian architecture. It’s a great city to just walk around. The weather is a little crazy but the people are very warm and charming.”
